Openwork adds PruProtect to protection panel

Openwork has added PruProtect to its protection panel Openwork Select.

PruProtect joins the four original providers, Zurich, L&G, LV= and Friends Life to increase the number of providers on the panel to five.

Openwork managing director of distribution and marketing Mark Duckworth says: “PruProtect offers a very different proposition from ‘traditional’ critical illness providers, with an allowance for multiple severity-based claims and its Vitality Programme which rewards healthier lifestyles. Our other four providers’ strong offers complement each other well and give real strength to our panel.”

Openwork also says it has invested in its front-end technology for protection advice to make it easier for advisers using the panel to compare cover across the different providers.

Around two thirds of Openwork advisers use its protection panel, with the remaining third remaining single-tied to Zurich.
