ONS to issue &#39European&#39 pink book

The latest edition of the &#39pink book&#39 will reflect the European style changes made to the UK&#39s system of calculating balance of payment figures

There will be three main changes to this years figures published by the Office for National Statistics.

Figures will be split by broad type of business, the net cash flow will be offset by an estimated amount paid by UK importers to foreign insurers on goods being imported and include pension funds within life insurance figures.

The changes are a result of the introduction of the new &#39European System of Accounts&#39 which will make international comparisons of national accounts more meaningful.
