The FSA is publishing its retail distribution review consultation paper this week.

The paper is expected to give more details on the regulator’s work-based assessment alternative to examinations. Unfortunately, it is likely the FSA will continue to oppose a strict split between sales and advice.

Money Marketing continues to support the move towards greater professionalism but hopes that central to the regulator’s thinking will be the damage done to consumers by a massive cut in IFA numbers.
