Old Mutual Wealth has recruited a new head of business distribution for protection from specialist protection portal LifeQuote.

Paul Roberts joins the firm after three years at LifeQuote, where he ultimately served as head of intermediary distribution.

He replaces Ian Jefferies, whose departure was announced last month, from 1 September.

Old Mutual Wealth head of specialist support Tony Harris says: “The business has completed a number of important improvements to the protection proposition recently, including enhancements to critical Illness cover, which now encompasses all types of heart attack and extended coverage for strokes.

“Old Mutual Wealth has ambitious plans to develop its protection proposition through better use of technology and the introduction of greater product innovation. Paul’s breadth of experience ensures we have the right leadership in place to deliver on that strategy.”
