Old Mutual Wealth appoints former Cofunds chair to board


Former Cofunds chairman and Threadneedle chief executive Simon Davies has been appointed to the board of Old Mutual Wealth Management as non-executive director.

The appointment is one of three that the firm, which is the holding company for Skandia and Old Mutual Global Investors, announced today.

Davies will chair Old Mutual Wealth’s remuneration committee. As well as his roles at Cofunds and Threadneedle, where he was also chairman, Davies has held directorships at Intrinsic, Sound Oil and Thames Water Pensions.

The group has also appointed Ashok Gupta to chair its audit committee and Jane Hanson to chair its board risk committee.

Old Mutual Wealth chief executive Paul Feeney says: “I am excited that three such experienced non-executive directors are joining our board.

“Old Mutual Wealth is at a crucial stage of its development and the knowledge and expertise Ashok, Jane and Simon will add to the business will be invaluable in helping us achieve our vision of becoming the best investment business in the market.”
