OFT appoints chief economist

The OFT has appointed Dr. Amelia Fletcher as its new chief economist to be responsible for economic analysis for both competition and consumer protection cases.

Fletcher, who is currently a manager with consultancy Frontier Economics where she specialises in competition policy and previously worked for now defunct consultancy London Economics.

She will head a new branch in the OFT&#39s new Market and Policy Initiatives Division.

Scottish Legal Life in Friends Prov marketing deal

Friendly society Scottish Legal Life has signed a deal with Friends Provident to market the life office&#39s stakeholder pension.
