NU Healthcare launches employee assistance programme

Norwich Union has launched an employee assistance programme for all new and existing corporate private medical insurance policyholders.

The EAP is set to be launched on July 1 and is available for employers with fifty or more members. The programme offers advice for employees on areas such as legal issues, emotional issues and tax and financial problems and is available 24 hours a day. Employees can discuss their problems with trained helpline advisers over the phone or even face-to-face.

In addition, a platinum package is available to companies who want to cover over 300 employees. The additionally the package offers confidential coaching on workplace issues.

Norwich Union Healthcare product marketing manager Tania Ella says: “According to industry figures the cost of workplace absence to the UK economy last year was £11.6bn or £475 per employee. This new EAP service can help alleviate the costs of staff absence due to a myriad of employee issues, including emotional, legal and financial problems.”
