NU adds funds on investment bond

Norwich Union is adding 32 funds to its Portfolio investment bond and is offering an online portfolio planning tool called Forecast to help advisers with asset allocation.

Clients will be able to invest in a further two internal, four manager of managers and 26 external funds from firms including Fidelity, Gartmore, BGI, Jupiter, New Star, Investec and Newton. The additions are aimed at offering a choice of investment styles across different asset classes.

Forecast has been developed with online financial planning platform provider DecisionsDecisions. The tool shows the benefits of financial planning and helps encourage clients to spread investments through a range of holdings and sectors.

Over 100 funds are now available through Portfolio. NU says it wants to give clients the information and tools to make effective decisions on behalf of clients, with Forecast helping them build bespoke investment portfolios while easing the compliance burden by assisting in keeping an audit trail.

NU Life has appointed John Clougherty as director of collective investment sales. This is a new position, and is part of Norwich Union’s multi-product strategy to place increased focus on the collective investment market.

Gaeia partnership director Brigid Benson says: “Norwich Union are a provider that we use quite a lot because of their strong corporate social responsibility policies, so we would welcome a tool like this from them that will make our lives easier.”
