NPI secure local authority SRI pensions scheme

NPI has been chosen by Wiltshire County Council to provide a Socially Responsible Investment, Additional Voluntary Contributions pensions scheme.

The Wiltshire CC pension scheme currently has 16,000 members, three per cent of whom have taken up an AVC option to date. Legislation introduced this summer obliged pension providers to disclose a Statement of Investment Principles, outlining to what extent social, environmental or ethical considerations are taken into account in investment.

NPI director of national accounts David Tildesley says: “The securing of this scheme well and truly signals NPI&#39s involvement in the AVC market. We are in negotiation with a number of organisations about providing AVC options.”
