NPI and ScotProv sign up for Focus online software

E-commerce software provider Focus Solutions has won a contract to supply technology to Scottish Provident and NPI.

Focus will provide the companies with its goal:proposal package which enables new business applications to be made online.

Applications are sent out across multiple channels to IFAs, who complete and return them electronically to the product provider for processing and completion.

Focus&#39s biggest product provider clients include Norwich Union, CGU, Legal & General, Scottish Equitable, Royal & Sun Alliance and Friends Provident.

IFA service providers currently using goal:proposal technology on their internet trading platforms are Assuresoft, Moneyextra and Synaptic.

NU, L&G and Standard Life already use goal:proposal to transact investment bond business via The Exchange.

Focus managing director John Streets says: “The software tools and industry standards are now available for electronic processing of investment bond applications and there is no longer anything standing in the way of the insurance sector doing business electronically, saving both product providers and IFAs time and money.

“Insurance companies are increasingly realis-ing that they will need to implement standards-based e-commerce quickly to maintain their competitive edge.”
