Novia appoints compliance head

Novia has appointed Chris Blakeley as head of risk and compliance.

Blakeley will be responsible for managing regulatory risk for the business working on the Aegon platform delivery and will report to Novia chief operating officer Richard Denning.

Aegon announced in March that Novia would provide the administration for its platform for up to five years.

He joins the wrap from Macquarie Bank and Financial Services UK division, where he spent three years as head of risk and compliance. Prior to Macquarie, he was Burns Anderson head of compliance.

Blakeley says: “The Aegon project is a key aspect of the business development and the professionalism and expertise of the staff on the project is superb.
