Northern Rock appoints chief risk officer

Northern Rock has appointed Rick Hunkin as its new chief risk officer with effect from September 1.

Hunkin was previously chief risk officer and executive director at GE Money UK Home Lending.

Executive chairman Ron Sandler says: “I am delighted that Rick will join the leadership team here at Northern Rock. His considerable risk management expertise within other leading financial services companies will further strengthen both our Executive and risk management teams. This appointment demonstrates that we continue to successfully deliver on the strategic priorities set out in our business plan.“
