Intelligent Partnership will hold its inaugural Alternative Investment Summit in central London next month in association with Money Marketing.
Rockpool Investments chairman Nicola Horlick is the keynote speaker at the summit, which is aimed at providers, investment professionals, financial planners and advisers, paraplanners, analysts and service providers to the finance industry.
Other speakers at the event, which will be held on 27 November at Westminster Central Hall, include Seedrs chief executive Jeff Lynn, Barnett Waddingham partner Andrew Roberts, UBS head of strategic partnerships Graeme Price and Abundance managing director Bruce Davis.
Horlick says: “Alternative investments have always been an area of great interest to me. It’s a sector that I fear has been overlooked for too long. Professional financial advisers, compliance experts and service providers all need to understand and be comfortable with providing support and guidance in this emerging sector.
“The Alternative Investment Summit provides the platform for industry experts to share ideas and learn more about the huge potential in this market.”
The event has been accredited by the Institute of Financial Planning and will count as seven hours of CPD. It is expected to cover areas of focus such as the growth of crowdfunding, the enterprise investment scheme and the seed enterprise investment scheme, and the issues around alternatives as an asset class.
Intelligent Partnership managing director Guy Tolhurst says: “Alternative investment is a large and growing sector; it’s no longer out on the fringe. As investors experience fatigue and disappointment with conventional investments, we have seen great interest in crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending and seed enterprise investment schemes amongst others.
“We think it’s time the industry took stock of what’s happened – both the good and the bad – and had a forum to discuss good practice, how the sector might evolve, and most importantly when and where these investments are suitable.”
Tickets are £175, although an early bird rate of £145 is available until 1 November 2013. They can be purchased at www.aisummit.co.uk.
The first 10 readers to contact firstname.lastname@example.org quoting Money Marketing will receive free tickets to the event.
