New venture for ex-Insight staff

Former Insight Investment multi-managers Patrick Armstrong, Ana Cukic Armstrong and Toby Hayes are launching Ucits III multi-asset funds and a qualified investor fund range for their new venture, Armstrong Investment Management.

The company will specialise in the multi-asset approach to fund management the team used at Insight until their 2008 departure. The intention is to bridge the gap between traditional and alternative investments by providing funds with exposure to a broad range of asset classes without compromising on transparency, liquidity and cost-effectiveness.

The group believes traditional investment funds have let investors down with volatile returns while alternative investments have left them disappointed and confused by costs, illiquidity and a lack of transparency. A middle path between the two will enable them to manage clients’ risk and return expectations more effectively, for example, by growing and preserving capital against the potential of rising inflation.

The funds will be managed by Armstrong, Cukic Armstrong and Hayes, with input from quant manager and risk analyst Vlade Milanovic. The team will take a more personal approach to dealing with clients, as they feel the service offered by the bigger players is often found lacking.
