New Star’s James Gledhill to join Henderson

New Star’s head of fixed income James Gledhill will be joining Henderson following the completion of the merger.

Gledhill, who currently manages New Star’s fixed income, high yield bond and extra high yield bond funds will report to Henderson bond manager John Pattullo and work alongside co-manager Jenna Barnard.

John Pattullo says: ‘We have a strong and reputable fixed income business here at Henderson. Jenna and I have worked together for the past six years managing our retail bond funds and we welcome James to the team.

“James is a well known and respected fund manager and someone who we have known for a long time. Both Jenna and I feel that his appointment will complement the team, expand our franchise and further strengthen our position among the competition.”

Henderson says Gledhill’s appointment will bring additional resource to its fixed income team and does no anticipate any mergers of the fixed income team initially.

A Henderson spokesman says: “Any merging which applies to all the fund ranges may happen over time but certainly not initially. We’ll be looking to bring one or two people across in James team. On what basis and what names is not confirmed.”
