The pair will work together with the Henderson team, which is headed by Bill McQuaker.
A Henderson spokesperson confirmed the deal and said both multi-manager ranges complement one another. The firm has no plans to reorganise the teams at this stage. Harris and Heron manage a range of eight multi-manager funds with £680m in assets. With Henderson, the range will total £840m.
Harris says: “We are delighted to announce we will join Henderson once the deal is complete in early April. Craig and I will continue to manage our range of funds of funds.”
Meanwhile, New Star managing director for retail Mark Skinner is to join Henderson Global Investors to run the group’s UK retail business.
