New head of commercial lending at Leeds & Holbeck

Leeds & Holbeck Building Society is appointing Ian Garrett as head of commercial lending.

Garrett will lead the development of the society&#39s lending on commercial property and social housing through housing associations

Garrett joins Leeds & Holbeck after 11 years in a similar role at Northern Rock. He began his career in financial services in 1984 as a management trainee with National Westminster Bank. He played football for England Schoolboys before joining Sheffield Wednesday where he played in the reserves.

Garrett says: “I believe there is great potential for the Society to build on its existing business and develop a successful commercial lending portfolio.”
