New GM at Investec Bank Switzerland

Investec Bank Switzerland has announced the appointment of Oliver Betz as the bank’s new general manager.

Betz will assume overall responsibility for Investec’s Swiss banking operations and aims to further build Investec’s distribution capabilities in Switzerland, with a specific focus on the bank’s wealth management and treasury services.

Prior to his appointment at Investec, Oliver spent ten years at Goldman Sachs Bank in Zurich as a financial analyst, a portfolio manager, the business unit manager of its private banking operation in Switzerland and a member of its management committee.

Investec Private Bank global head Steve Heilbron says: “We are extremely pleased to be taking on someone of Oliver’s calibre and track record. He joins our team at a time of substantial and continuous growth in revenues, profitability and client assets. We are looking forward to leveraging Oliver’s skill set to help us sustain and bolster this growth with the recruitment of additional top quality investment practitioners.”

Betz says: “Private banking and wealth management are fast evolving and expanding industries, with increasing competition and more sophisticated products being brought to market. Investec has built a strong reputation for itself in this area, and the Swiss business has an energetic and experienced team. I look forward to contributing to this momentum.”
