Net pension firm offers employee protection

Online stakeholder specialist Pensionsbusiness is revamping its web-based service to employers by offering group life insurance and group income protection to employees.

Once an employer has selected a pension scheme online, they can then buy group life insurance and group income protection through Legal & General.

Pensionsbusiness is an IFA firm which offers employers an online choice of pre-stakeholder and group personal pensions in keeping with stakeholder legislation ahead of the launch in April.

The site offers employers access to products from a range of providers, including Norwich Union, Scottish Equitable and Clerical Medical.

Pensionsbusiness chief executive and principal of IFA Nightingale Associates Michael Lockyer says: “This exciting development gives the employer the opportunity of really adding value for their employees. The low-cost and eff- icient nature of our online service puts the employer in control of their pension provision and at the same time allows them to add competitive products and benefits for employees.”
