A recent YouGov survey found 43 per cent of employees would most like their employer to provide private healthcare as a staff benefit.
Commissioned by the Business Action on Health campaign from Business in the Community, YouGov surveyed 1,347 full and part time workers in the UK to investigate their experiences of health and wellbeing practices in the workplace.
The survey found an annual duvet day was the only thing employees would like their companies to provide more than PMI, cited by 48 per cent of those questioned.
Physical activity programmes such as discounted gym membership received 38 per cent of the vote and 36 per cent cited informal relaxation areas in the workplace as something they would most like their employer to provide.
Standard Life Healthcare chief executive Mike Hall says PMI is increasingly recognised as an employer benefit that can help with business productivity.
He says: “Plans increasingly have a health and wellbeing element designed to keep customers healthy and it is most encouraging to see that the employees themselves are recognising and looking for the benefits PMI provides.”
