National Savings announce record pay-outs on premium bonds


Pay-outs on Premium Bonds reached record breaking level in the last financial year according to the latest figures from National Savings.


Ernie was more generous than ever before paying out nearly 7 million prizes worth approximately £540m.


The record prize pay-outs come at a time of increasing popularity for premium bonds with an average investment of £302m a month. March sales reached a record £386.3m.
