National Counties launches stepped discount mortgages

National Counties Building Society is offering stepped discount mortgages linked to its standard variable rate of 6.99 per cent.

For borrowers paying their own application and legal fees for purchases and remortgages National Counties offers a 1 year discount of 2.25 per cent followed by a second year discount of 1.25 per cent.

For remortgages only, National Counties offers a version with the application fee waived and legal fees paid, carrying a 2 per cent discount in the first year and a 1 per cent discount in the second year.
