Mellon Financial Corporation, supporters of the Mellon Pittsburgh Symphony European Tour 2003, is offering Money Marketing readers the opportunity to join the company at one of the orchestra's performances as part of the BBC Proms series on August 30 at the Royal Albert Hall.
Mellon has donated four pairs of their highly coveted tickets for you to win in our competition.
Not only will you get to see this world renowned orchestra conducted by the legendary Mariss Jansons, your tickets also include Mellon's hospitality at the performance – pre-concert Champagne reception, interval refreshments and post-performance buffet, where the musicians will join the party.
If you do not win one of our top prizes, we are also giving away 25 CDs of live recordings of the Mellon Grand Classic Seasons performed in the orchestra's and Mellon's hometown of Pittsburgh.
MELLON AND THE PITTSBURGH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – A LONG-STANDING PARTNERSHIP
Mellon Financial Corporation has been associated with the Pittsburgh Symphony since 1897. With 106 years of working in partnership, these two landmark institutions of Pittsburgh share a rich and rewarding history.
Mellon's support of this year's European Tour is the first time that their partnership has extended into Europe and it has been a successful venture for both parties.
For Mellon, the tour has formed a key element of its ongoing corporate branding and marketing campaign currently running throughout Europe. Mellon Europe chairman Jack Klinck says: “This sponsorship initiative has more than met our objectives in terms of customer entertainment and community affairs.”
August 30 is the final date of the second stage of the tour following performances in Lucerne and Salzburg, venues that support the campaign in Switzerland and Germany and which are important markets for the company.
The first stage of the tour in the spring saw performances in Spain, Austria and the Netherlands.
Klinck says: “It was especially imp-ortant for us to support a sponsorship programme that encompassed our key European markets where we are expanding and developing our business and this project certainly helped us achieve brand and name awareness in those markets.”
The UK performances, on August 29 and 30 at the Royal Albert Hall, will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3, with the concert on August 30 live on BBC 2.
