Mortgages plc appoints group risk director

Mortgages plc, the specialist lender, has announced the appointment of Bill Purves to the new position of Group Risk Director.

Purves’ role will give him responsibility for all aspects of risk within the Mortgages plc Group, including credit and compliance. He will be based in the lender’s Glasgow office.

He joins from the Dunfermline Building Society where he spent two and a half years as General Manager Risk & Compliance. Prior to that, Bill was Vice President, Risk Assurance with the Bank of Bermuda.

Mortgages plc Group Chief Executive Trevor Pothecary says: “Bill clearly has a key role to play in our successful operation in a regulated mortgage market, and I know he will be able to make a big contribution to the business.”
