Mortgage Power picks champion

This year&#39s third annual awards of London mortgage broking network The

Mortgage Power highlighted high-achieving advisers.

The event aims to pay tribute to quality advice and examine the future of

mortgage broking. Speakers included Council of Mortgage Lenders senior

policy adviser Kate Main, on the future of the mortgage market, and Money

Marketing editor John Lappin, who spoke on the issue of recommending

repayment mortgages.

Awards are made on a bronze, silver, gold, ruby and diamond basis to the

network&#39s 50 members. The champion&#39s award for highest numbers of mortgages

completed went to Imperial Financial Services proprietor Dinesh Shonchhatra

for the second year running.

Mortgage Power chairman Hardyal Luther says: “This year we devised an

award category to pay tribute to the important partnership between lenders

and brokers. UCB Home Loans was the company which emerged as the top lender

after we surveyed our members.”
