Mortgage fraud duo sentenced to over eight years in prison

A woman and a man have been sentenced to over eight years in prison for spearheading a £508,000 mortgage scam in West Yorskhire.

Lisa Sanderson was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court yesterday to 27 months in prison for entering into two fraudulent mortgage agreements with Woolwich and Yorkshire Bank in 1998 and 2000 respectively.

Mortgage intermediary Noel Ward, who assisted Sanderson with her mortgage applications, was sentenced to six years.

Sanderson secured the loans through Ward using a false name and by falsifying property valuations, application form details and bank statements.
