Mortgage &#39extravaganza&#39 for IFAs

Broker club Mortgage Intelligence is running what it calls an “extravaganza” of events for intermediaries when it goes on the road in September.

It is doing a series of roadshows kicking off in Warwick on September 3 and finishing in Leeds on September 13. MI is aiming to encourage as many of its 5,000 members as possible to attend.

Each day is split into presentations by lenders in the morning followed by activities, such as a Thames Cruise at the London session on September 4 and a ferry across the Mersey at the Liverpool event in September 12, in the afternoons.

The presentations will cover topical issues, including the buy-to-let market, regulation, technology and-commerce and specialised lending. It is currently talking to a number of lenders about taking part. The other venues and events include ice karting in Bracknell on September 5, speedboat racing in Southampton on September 6, a mot-orised sports day in Bath on September 9 and driving and shooting in Leicester on September 11. There will also be driving and shooting in Warwick and Leeds.

Managing director Sally Laker says: “We&#39ve spoken to brokers and the feedback was they did not want boring old roadshows so we have decided to try to make September a month of extravaganza and arrange events with a difference. We are going to eight venues but would ask our members to sign up early if they want to come along to their local one.”
