Mortgage 2000 links to IFA

Mortgage 2000&#39s consumer website, has secured a deal to supply national IFA Inter-Alliance with mortgage, life insurance and critical-illness cover leads.

The deal marks the first time that consumers on the website can be directed to the services of an IFA, in a move that is aimed at improving the search-to-apply ratio.

The website&#39s chief executive, Simon Nixon, says many of the 750,000 page impressions generates each month are from prospective borrowers reluctant to transact online.

He says the tie-up will enable borrowers to go straight to an IFA who can provide them with the advice they need to apply for a mortgage or associated product.

Customers can decide whether they want to phone, email or have a meeting with an IFA.

Browsers leaving the website without completing a mortgage application will receive a prompt asking whether they want advice from an Inter-Alliance adviser.

Inter-Alliance e-business development director Janine Menasakanian says: “Experience has taught us that consumers using the internet prefer to speak to a financial adv- iser. The deal will allow website users to access specialist holistic advice to help them make informed decisions.”

Nixon says: “It makes perfect sense to put our customers in touch with professional advisers so we are delighted to have persuaded Inter-Alliance to help.”
