Morgan Stanley appoints new president of investment business

Morgan Stanley has appointed former Merrill Lynch chief operating officer Gregory Fleming as its new president of Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Fleming, who joins in February, will also oversee Morgan Stanley’s merchant banking division and will be responsible for global research.

He will serve as a member of the operating committee, reporting to Morgan Stanley chief executive and president James Gorman.

Gorman says: “Given his proven record of accomplishment, Greg is ideally suited to help us continue building on the progress we have made in our asset management and merchant banking businesses.”
