Misys in talks on IFA loan platform

Network and IT giant Misys is in negotiations with IFonline to provide

IFAs with independent mortgage trading platform through m-link later this

A partnership between IFonline and Misys would give the service a valuable

boost in the battle against rivals the exchange and DBS-owned Assuresoft.

IFonline may give m-link users the facility to search, sort, select and

provide online illustrations as well as submit applications and track a

mortgage through to completion online.

The move would tie in with m-link&#39s existing offering which enables

IFAs to transact electronically with product providers and obtain

comparative and provider-specific quotations on products, including

personal pensions, bonds and critical-illness protection.

IFAs using an m-link service linked with IFonline will have access to a

range of mortgage product data which is updated by lenders.

Misys editor-in-chief Paul Charles says: “Discussions have been held

although no agreement has been made. The talks are ongoing.”

DBS spokeswoman Sue Lewis says: “AssureWeb ann- ounced its mortgage

offering in January, which is an active mortgage platform supported by

lenders who supply 50 per cent of the market. It is interesting that the

competition is trying to catch up.”
