Mirae appoints distribution heads

Mirae Asset Global Investments has announced the appointments of Hendrik Cosijn von Ripperda as head of distribution – EMEA (ex-UK) and Elliot Berman to senior manager EMEA (ex-UK) distribution.

Cosijn von Ripperda joined Mirae Asset in May 2008 as head of European (ex-UK) distribution from London-based hedge fund KI Asset Management.

Berman joined Mirae Asset’s UK team in September 2008 as senior manager, European distribution. He was previously with Morley Fund Management where he worked from 2002, most recently as sales manager for Northern Europe.

Mirae managing director Myung Joo Park says: “The promotions of Hendrik and Elliot are a reflection of their valuable contributions to the firm. They have both played instrumental roles in the success of setting up sales activities for Mirae Asset in Europe. It also reflects the importance we attach to Europe and the Middle East as investors are showing increasing appetite for Emerging Market products. We are well positioned for the launch of our range of emerging markets SICAV funds in the coming months.”
