Mid-cap stocks reach record levels

London’s FTSE 250 mid-cap index has broken 8000 for the first time as takeover speculation continues to dominate the market.

The news comes after mid-caps fell out of favour earlier this year, with investment analysts largely favouring large-cap stocks for the first time following a strong run in the 250.
