M&G opens an entertaining fund

M&G is offering a new global communications and media fund as part of a new range of specialist global funds.

The fund, due for launch in February, will be the second in the new range following last year&#39s global technology fund launch. It will concentrate on companies involved with or benefiting from the creation and delivery of entertainment, information and education.

The fund will be managed by former JP Morgan media analyst Aled Smith, who is set to join the firm next month.

Head of global specialist range Greg Kerr says: “The demand for content such as information, entertainment and education, both by individuals and global communities, is increasing at an exponential rate. So too is the demand for faster and more innovative mediums to carry this content to the end user. M&G believes those companies who are able to satisfy this demand for intellectual capital, and are leading this revolution, present an exciting new investment opportunity for retail investors.

“This new fund cuts across the telecoms and media sectors, providing exposure to companies at the cutting edge of the content and delivery revolution. These are the companies that will enable individuals to receive information, education or entertainment.”
