Mentor updates VCT guide

IFA group and product provider Mentor Financial Services is publishing a guide to this year&#39s venture capital trusts and enterprise investment schemes.

It will be the ninth edition of the free guide, which explains how EISs and VCTs work and gives a risk rating of plans.

It details the tax breaks available through each type of investment and shows how they can be used to reclaim capital gains tax that has already been paid.

The guide been written as an educational tool for advisers to use with their clients and for individual investors who want to do more research.

Chairman and author of the guide Tony Granger says: “The guide has proved to be popular with consumers seeking independent information in the past. This guide reflects the market and opportunities for tax-reducing investors.”
