Melluish returns to Gartmore global equities

Simon Melluish is returning to Gartmore to take up a new role as product specialist – global equities.

He joins on September 4, assuming responsibility for sales and marketing activity for Gartmore’s Sicav global focus fund and global focus fund Oeic. He will also manage the promotion of its long/short market neutral global hedge fund.

Melluish will report to head of global equities Neil Rogan.
He joined Gartmore as an investment manager on the global portfolio team in 1995 and was promoted to head of US equities in London in July 2000.

July 2001 saw Gartmore combining its US equities capabilities, resulting in Melluish and his team transferring to its Philadelphia office.

In 2003, Melluish was appointed head of US equities for the combined US equities teams.

He spent over three years in Philadelphia managing a number of US equities funds on behalf of Gartmore’s UK retail clients.

He left Gartmore in January 2005 and subsequently returned to the UK to invest his time in to setting up and managing his own commercial business.

Neil Rogan, Head of Global Equities, comments, “We are delighted that Simon has chosen to return to Gartmore. His energy and experience will be a valuable addition to our Global Equities team, Gartmore as a whole as well as our clients.

“Investor interest in our global equities product range has continued to gain momentum across all markets. Simon’s appointment is therefore a very important one as it will help us in our strive to enhance our market share in the UK and Europe as a leading global equities product provider in the European retail, Institutional and global hedge fund sectors.”
