McQuaker to lead Fof revamp with Husselbee set to leave Henderson

Henderson Global Investors director of multi-manager John Husselbee is to leave the group in June as the firm sets out plans to revamp its fund of fund business significantly.

Husselbee will be replaced by Bill McQuaker who recently joined Henderson after nine years at Credit Suisse First Boston as head of quantitative strategy.

McQuaker is being brought in to help with the development of Hender-son’s new Managed Solutions multi-manager offer- ing. Expected to launch in 2006, Managed Solutions is a multi-asset product which incorporates traditional multi-manager equity and bond exposure as well as property, commodities and hedge funds.

Henderson group head of corporate communications Richard Acworth says: “John Husselbee has decided that after nine years he has expressed his desire to leave Henderson. He will remain at the head of the multi-manager team until a handover in June.”

Hargreaves Lansdown senior analyst Meera Patel says: “Henderson was a darling of the 1980s and seems to have died a death since the mid-1990s. Hus-selbee is a good manager but he seemed to be under-resourced in comparison to competitors such as Jupiter and Credit Suisse Asset Management. But these changes should hopefully be a good thing.”
