Matrix hires Gartmore’s Angus Woolhouse as chief executive

Angus Woolhouse, the former head of institutional business at Gartmore, has taken over the role of chief executive officer at Matrix Asset Management.

Woolhouse will oversee a product range, which includes funds of funds, hedge funds, Ucits funds, cash funds, private equity, venture capital trusts and specialised finance.

Matrix’s client base ranges from institutions through to professionals servicing individual clients.

At Gartmore, Woolhouse was responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the group’s product range to institutions worldwide.

He also held the roles of group marketing and product development director at Invesco UK and general manager, commercial development for Asia Pacific, at HSBC Asset Management.

Gartmore says its existing team will take over Woolhouse’s responsibilities.
