Martin Currie’s Burnett departs for Lyxor Asset Management

Martin Currie head of UK intermediary business Alan Burnett is leaving after nine years at the asset manager to join Lyxor Asset Management.

Burnett is set to leave the investment manager at the beginning of June. Martin Currie’s David Townsend has been promoted to managing director of UK sales and client service with immediate effect. Townsend will take on the new role in addition to his current position as head of UK institutional and global consultant relations.

Burnett joined Martin Currie in 2004 and has worked in financial services for over 20 years experience in financial services including time at Liontrust Asset Management and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell’s unit trust business.

Townsend joined Martin Currie in 2008. Prior to this he held roles including head of international sales and director of institutional sales at Axa Investment Management and Axa Framlington.

Martin Currie managing director of sales, marketing and client service Andy Sowerby says: “David Townsend is a proven member of the senior team at Martin Currie. He has vast experience of institutional and wholesale markets and is a proven leader.”
