Martin Currie promotes Porter to co-manager on global funds

Martin Currie has promoted Alan Porter to co-manager of its global and global alpha retail products.

Porter, who joined the firm in September 2008, will co-manage the £35m global fund with David Sheasby and the global alpha fund with James Fairweather.

Martin Currie managing director of sales Andy Sowerby says: “We continue to invest in our capabilities both to deepen our resources and improve our ability to deliver investment performance to investors. Since his arrival, Alan has quicky proven to us that he is a very talented investor. His experience and expertise merit the opportunity for him to be more directly involved in managing money, and we are very confident that he will meet the needs of our growing client base for many years to come.”
