Mark Tennant appointed as chairman of Money Portal

Money Portal has announced the appointment of Mark Tennant as the new chairman of the firm.

Tennant takes on the role with immediate effect, replacing Richard Hambro who has decided to step down.

Hambro has been battling with a serious illness for some time and he feels that he is unable to give the time that the role demands, however he will remain as a non executive director of the company.

Tennant has been a member of the Money Portal board for several years. He has also held senior roles at Hambros Bank, Hill Samuel and also JP Morgan where he is a senior adviser in the investment bank.

Tennant says: “We are indebted to Richard for his board leadership during a period of significant business expansion and we all wish him well with his on going battle to restore his health. I’m delighted to be appointed Chairman of a company that I’ve watched grow at a rapid rate. Whilst there are challenges that lay ahead for us all in this sector I believe Money Portal will ultimately be a net beneficiary as the demand for trusted financial advice grows in the UK.”

A resurgence of interest in protection insurance is one of a few positive outcomes of the present economic disaster. One other instance being an increased scrutiny of those who normally scrutinise us.
