Mark Harris to join Eden

Eden Financial has appointed former Henderson head of multi-manager Mark Harris as joint manager of the £66.6m CF Eden global multi-strategy fund.

Harris will comanage the fund alongside Chris Jaques. Jaques currently runs the fund for the Eden private client business and Harris will roll it out to the broader market.

Harris worked at New Star from 2003 to 2009 and grew assets under his management from £400m to £1.2bn. When New Star was acquired by Henderson Group, he ran nine funds worth a total of £800m.

He was made redundant from Henderson in February.

Eden Financial head of asset management Ed Rosengarten says: “Inflows into the balanced and multi-asset sectors are vast. Jaques has been running the fund to the requirements of the private client business and Harris now has the opportunity to take that to the external market. The fund is appropriate and consistent with both the private client and external market.

“Harris brings his experience in the multi-asset area and presence in the external market. We can now combine considerable knowledge and in-depth experience in equities, multi-asset, fund of funds, fixed interest and alternatives, providing us with the right breadth of skills that we set out to achieve.”

Harris says: “I am looking forward to working with the multi-strategy team to extend the range of funds available and help build Eden’s market presence.”
