Manx Govt says KSF depositors should receive payments in months

The Isle of Man Government says Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander IoM depositors should start to receive compensation payments from August.

It says invitations to claim went out to Friday to depositors and the closing point for the first payment is June 30.

IoM finance director John Spellman said: “We are trying to get the money out to people as soon as possible – we are almost through agreeing the terms with the scheme manager.”

Spellman could not give further detail on the terms as he said it required approval from Tynwald.

He said: “The intention is that the first block of payments is agreed by June 30 and money goes out probably in August.”
