Look to the pension future

Hear from the experts on the latest developments in the pension arena and have a chance of winning a car

Pension advisers will once again have the opportunity to hear from the experts on the future of the industry at this month’s Money Marketing Live conference and exhibition.

The event, which takes place at the G-Mex in Manchester on October 31, will include seminars dedicated to pension issues and an exhibition of leading product and services providers.

An industry panel debate will be a keynote feature of the conference and will identify what impact pension simplification has so far had on the intermediary’s role.

It will be chaired by Aifa director general Chris Cummings and panellists include Scottish Life head of pensions Steve Bee, Aegon Scottish Equitable head of pensions development Rachel Vahey and IFA Nick McBreen from Worldwide Financial Planning.

Professional Briefing managing director and Money Marketing columnist Keith Popplewell will give a guide on how advisers can proactively benefit themselves and their clients by understanding the implications of imminent changes in the pension world.

Key figures from leading pension companies will also give presentations in the Money Marketing Pensions Arena. Speakers will include Suffolk Life sales and marketing director John Moret and Legal & General pension strategy director Adrian Boulding, who will take a look at future opportunities for advisers. Hornbuckle Mitchell managing director Neil Marsh will also discuss Sipp and SSAS strategies.

Marsh says: ‘There have been many changes to the actual legislation implementing A-Day from the initial proposals in the consultation documents. It is important for advisers to know about the role for SSASs in the post-A-Day environment, particularly the family Sipp, how Asp will work, the IHT implications, Government policy and the latest FSA pronouncements.”

With training sessions and workshops, Money Marketing Live will feature over 50 key industry speakers and over 100 exhibitors from across financial services.
