The Royal Commission on Long Term Care will announce its findings this afternoon.
Sir Stewart Sutherland will make a statement at 3.30pm at the offices of the health service think tank The King's Fund.
At the same time, Health Secretary Frank Dobson will announce the findings to the Commons.
The widely-leaked report is expected to recommend that the Government assumes responsibility for the health component of the care but not for 'hotel costs'. But a dissenting opinion will suggest that the public be forced to make provision for both healthcare and hotel costs.
