The Chartered Insurance Institute has elected Lloyds Bank secured lending operations director Robert Fletcher as its new president.

At the group’s annual general meeting today, Fletcher was chosen to replace Ashmin Mistry, chairman of insurance broking group Brokerbility, in the role.

Currently responsible for the new and existing business servicing of the mortgage book, Fletcher previously spent 26 years at Aviva in a range of commercial marketing and distribution roles.

The CII has also elected John Moore, chairman of insurance broker Thomas Carroll Group, as its deputy president.

Fletcher says: “The CII’s mission to raise standards in insurance and financial services is a cause that the whole profession should get behind.

“I am excited to be able to work with the experienced CII board and executive to support the sector in striving towards greater levels of professionalism.”
