Liverpool Victoria has appointed Richard Rowney to the new role of group chief operating officer, effective from February 20, 2007, subject to regulatory approval.
Rowney joins from Barclays where he held a number of senior positions, most recently as programme director of the Woolwich integration.
He will be responsible for marketing, IT, HR, corporate governance, strategy and change at Liv Vic, the UK’s largest friendly society.
Group chief executive Mike Rogers says: “I am delighted to be able to announce this important appointment. Richard brings a wealth of relevant experience to Liverpool Victoria and will help to drive the whole business forwards.”
