Lincoln sets foundations for family protection

Lincoln Financial Group is relaunching its protection package with a menu of long-term benefits.

The financial foundations package is aimed at family protection and inheritance tax mitigation.

It includes life insurance with optional indexation, critical-illness cover, permanent disability benefit, elderly care cover and income protection.

The product is designed around a non-qualifying, unit-linked whole of life contract. Added benefits can be targeted to suit a customer’s needs. Benefits can be added or removed and amounts increased or decreased at any time. A premium holiday facility is also available, allowing the client to take a break from payments.

The package is available now to IFAs for distribution and illustrations are available on The Exchange.

According to The Exchange on March 4, Lincoln provides the cheapest whole of life cover for men and women non-smokers aged 50, 60 and 70 at 150,000 sum assured.

CII, permanent disability and elderly care cover are all available on renewable flexible basis. Angioplasty is listed as one of the critical illnesses covered by the package while many providers no longer accommodate it.

Marketing communications manager Brian Sceats says:”We now provide a protection product that can stay with the client for life, adapting as circumstances change.

“It has ultimate flexibility, attractive commission and rebate terms and access to exclusive life funds including those managed by Goldman Sachs, Framlington, Castlemere and Investment Manager Selection.”
