Lighthouse to push into niche areas

Lighthouse has unveiled its mortgage and protection pro-position, offering members a panel of 16 lenders, including Abbey, Halifax and Nationwide.

It will also push into niche areas such as equity release and commercial mortgages, with a personal loan service to be launched next year following a series of roadshows.

The equity-release panel includes specialists Mortgage Express and Northern Rock as well as Prudential and Just Ret-irement. Lighthouse has a strong relationship with Norwich Union on the life and pension side but has not selected the firm for its equity-release panel.

Mortgage Intelligence will provide a helpdesk service and Lighthouse is offering two packager services for brokers dealing with sub-prime mortgages.

Director of field operations Mark Evans says: “Regulation is bedding in and we are looking at steady growth in 2006. We are now in a position to build on the partnerships.”
