Lighthouse poaches head of training from Sesame

Lighthouse Group has appointed Sesame Bankhall Group financial adviser school principal Ian James as head of group training.

James will take up the role on 10 December. He will be responsible for developing Lighthouse’s whole-of-market national arm Lighthouse Financial Advice’s academy for new advisers, based at the group’s Brighton offices.

James will become part of the Lighthouse Financial Advice senior management team and will also be responsible for developing the training regime for the wider group.

Lighthouse says it aims to grow Lighthouse Financial Advice from 220 advisers to 500 by July 2015.

Lighthouse Group chief executive Malcolm Streatfield (pictured) says: “The appointment of Ian James underpins the strong growth of Lighthouse Financial Advice.”

Last week, Money Marketing revealed Lighthouse Advisory Services managing director Stephen Gazard is joining Sesame Bankhall Group as distribution director. News of Gazard’s appointment followed the departure of Sesame Bankhall managing director of distribution Nick Kelly after a reshuffle of its executive team.
