Lighthouse looks to close Exeter office as part of restructure

Lighthouse Group has launched a strategic review of its business which could see the closure of its Exeter office.

As part of a series of proposals the firm’s back office operations centre, which is based in Exeter, would move to Stockport and Woodingdean offices by the end of March 2014.

The Exeter office currently employs 40 staff all of which are back office operational roles.

In a market announcement today the firm says it will now enter a consultation process with those 40 staff.

The review of the business will consider current locations of the business and where its subsidiaries are based, the availability of skilled people in proximity to those locations and when leases on property expire.

Lighthouse chief executive Malcolm Streatfield says: “This announcement comes as part of the group’s ongoing work to rationalise and simplify its operational structure.  With five locations nationwide, which have evolved as a result of the group’s historic mergers and acquistion activity, it is important for the board to assess the efficacy of its structure and, where appropriate, rationalise its operations.”
